Getting hold of a next-gen console doesn't seem to be getting any easier, even nearly 10 months after the PS5 and Xbox Series X first launched. Still, both Sony and Microsoft are struggling to keep up with demand, even as inventory levels improve .

Yesterday Walmart had a big supply for PS5 and Xbox Series X / S.

And then the big retailer went live again the same day with the limited edition Halo Infinite Xbox Series X!

And both times shoppers had reason to complain about a new feature on the Walmart website.

Walmart press and hold button 'not working'

To combat scalper bots, Walmart implemented a new press-and-hold button that buyers must use to check out a next-generation console.

But consumers are already dissatisfied with the button to be buggy and not let them pass. Many users report that they pressed the button to no avail.

In a new post on the PS5Restock subreddit, user "itsnotcalledchads" expressed dislike for the feature:

"The press-and-hold button was created by Satan. What a crappy nightmare feature of a website. I had the PS5 in my shopping cart five times today, but I pressed and held and the button just wouldn't stop. "

Other users report similar issues with Walmart's press and hold button, but some users were eventually able to bypass the system.

If you want to get past the Walmart press and hold button, better to use the app than the website. Users report that you need to hold the button down yourself until the bar fills completely and then release it.

Of course, that doesn't always work in practice. Some users claim that by repeating the process, they eventually got to the checkout screen.

However, even after you check out, the problems never end. In fact, Walmart is known for significantly delaying next-gen console orders!
